"Come as you are" applies to your spirit. Whether you are living on the mountaintop or living in the valley...come as you are.
Whether your heart feels full and strong or your heart feels weak and weary...come as you are.
Whether you feel like your best self or you feel like a shadow of yourself...come as you are. We are the vet moms. We bear one another's burdens. And we lift each other up. Come learn, love, and laugh with us!

Dani McVety, DVM
In addition to her role as a hospice veterinarian and Founder & CEO of Lap of Love, Dani McVety is a speaker, consultant, author, and Mom with a DVM. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, she practiced emergency medicine and gained a greater understanding of how to help families at a time in which they felt most helpless. This has become her greatest fulfillment in veterinary medicine: helping to provide comfort and peace to pets through Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. Dani and her cofounder, Dr. Mary Gardner, have grown the company into one of the most respected networks of doctors in the veterinary profession, setting the standard for end-of-life care higher than it has ever been before.

Donnell Hansen, DVM, DAVDC
Donnell Hansen, a Minnesota native, and a small group of friends joined together to form the Moxie Center (which was the first hospital to be now known as BluePearl) in Minnesota’s twin cities and splits time between the two local full-service referral hospitals. Although her daily life is spent in specialty care, in 2011, her and her husband, also a veterinarian, opened Rice Creek Animal Hospital which provides some balance and perspective about life in family practice. Recently, Dr. Hansen developed “Four Legged Tooth Fairy” a continuing education center for family DVMs and CVTs to enhance/develop their dental skills and improve their practice health. Dr. Hansen’s special interest is maxillofacial surgery, however the truth is, she loves the whole darn gig… especially when she gets to share veterinary dentistry.
